Naming ceremony, Glastonbury Tor
Written by David WhiteAfternoon,
Above is a shot that means a lot to me for various reasons. It was taken half way up Glastonbury Tor back in 2002. ¬†My friend’s baby, pictured far right, was to be named in a ceremony conducted by the local druids, on the morning of the Spring equinox. We had all stopped for a rest, and I had my trusty old Nikon with me, and a fast lens with fast film in. I love this shot for it’s balance, and almost biblical qualities. Didn’t they have druids in the bible? 😉
My wife Jane is to the left of the pic, and all our other friends are in various relaxed positions, our way lit by the huge candles we took with us. The whole of the rest of the day was wonderful and shall never be forgotten.
Hope you like the snap.

looks like something out of a nativity play … apt considering the circumstances!
there’s magic in this picture, it is almost like a painting, totally timeless and poignant. I love it!
