World Press Photo award winners now all online
Written by duckrabbitIts great to see all the World Press Photo awards on-line but to be honest I don’t think it does the medium any favors.
Collectively the photos represent a fairly limited view on the world and one that swiftly leads to cynicism. The so called crisis in photography should encourage World Press to embrace new uses of the medium if their selections aren’t to become a curiosity in a world that has since moved fast forward beyond the single image. To me photography is still essential. so why celebrate such a limited vision of the world?
