I saw Mike Scott (The Waterboys) on my 16th birthday playing solo at a festival. He blew me away. The Whole Of The Moon is one of the greatest songs ever written. The lyrics are untouchable and this version played to a bunch of school kids over twenty years ago is brilliant. Though it does make me feel bloody old!
I was grounded while you filled the skies
I was dumbfounded by truth, you cut through lies
I saw the rain dirty valley, you saw Brigadoon
I saw the crescent, you saw the whole of the moon
I spoke about wings you just flew
I wondered I guessed and I tried, you just knew
I sighed and you swooned
I saw the crescent, you saw the whole of the moon
The whole of the moon
