The Guardian Student Photographer Of The Year Nominations

Have just been announced.

I was pleased to see Charley Murrell’s name on the list. Charley just finished a three day photofilm training course with duckrabbit on Sunday. She is a cracking snapper who I think will go on to create really compelling photofilms. Definitely one to watch.

The most interesting thing about the list is that the nominees are all women. Why then do we see so few women photographers celebrated further on in their careers? No prizes for guessing.
