Don;t get me wrong I think Larry is being very transparent. Well done to him for raising the cash, I just think his response now he has the money in the bank is a bit pathetic.

Never trust anything you read on duckrabbit
Never really been a fan of the Spanish food though Duckrabbit. Too much meat involved.
Prefer the Italian cuisine, which in itself good enough reason to go to Tuscany. Did a solo cycle trip around there once – fantastic, though the hills took it out of me eventually.
Any ideas what they might be discussing for this “Emergency” fund project?

I am slightly concerned that a world famous photographer who can publish books on a whim needs to rely on public money to work on international projects. I suggest he uses his pledged money to finance a younger, hungrier photographer to accompany him and pay for himself. The young person, with all the help from Larry and his extensive contacts in Afghanistan, may produce unexpected, and exciting work that could show a different perspective of the situation out there. Personally I know the imagery that Larry Towell produces now will be the same as what Larry Towell produced last year in some other international hotspot. I think if he is going to use public money he should utilise his experience to help young talent.
So let me see if this gets published..

In three years only once have I banned someone from commenting, and that was not on duckrabbit but another website. I do sometimes change a comment for legal reasons. Since I have only banned someone once I am presuming that Eve is referring to that time, as there is no other time. But it is disingenuous of her to write that we censor people. It’s just not true and an attempt to deflect the debate. For that reason I’ve removed her comments.
The reason why I banned someone is that they were threatening legal action, as well as telephoning people related to duckrabbit and making general threats. Literally harassing people who were not even related to the website.
I don’t want to say anymore because I don’t want them to start doing it again, but it was a disturbing experience.
Sleep assured though that you can as rude about me as you like and I will keep publishing your comments.
