The deadline is almost here, but there’s still time to enter the 2011 Amnesty International UK Media Awards.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the awards and the ceremony, at the British Film Institute in London on the 24 May, promises to be a very special occasion.

Over two decades the Amnesty Media Awards have grown in prestige, recognising excellence in human rights reporting and acknowledging journalism’s significant contribution to the public’s awareness of human rights issues. The ten categories recognise newspaper, magazine, radio, TV and digital journalism. Each is judged by an independent panel.

The closing date for entries is Tuesday 1 March.
