What is success?

That’s the question Colin Pantall has been asking some interesting people engaged in the photography world.

I’ll admit I had to think about it for a while. It’s such an important question.

As I’ve grown up my thinking has changed. I’ve had my fair share of ‘success’, but the high is always short-lived, afterwards the emptiness comes rushing back in.

For a long time I wanted to change the world, but the truth is it’s actually me that needs to change.

So this is the answer I gave Colin:

‘Success is the moment you let go.’

Head over to Colin’s Blog to add your own thoughts.

In the meantime, if you’re struggling for success, this song, this morning is for you.

Nice clip, reminds me of a darling dear, dear woman… Aboriginal woman called Ruby Hunter who passed away tragically last year at age 48… She knew the tough end of the stick believe me… she was tiny and incredible and loving… oh so loving…

You ask what it all means duckrabbitt?… Can I just say this…

Success is the moment when you love unconditionally…

  2. David White says:

Unconditional love may be abused, but not by the person giving the love. I’m with Lisa. Success has nothing to do with photography. “To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.” That works for me.

Either that or maybe the answer is owning lots of shiny Volvos? Is it?
