Exciting new collective ‘Rawiya’ launches at Format11

The Rawiya collective is launching at the Format11 International Photography Festival in Derby today.

Rawiya is a photography collective founded by five female photographers from across the Middle East.

Rawiya presents an insider’s view of a region in flux balancing its contradictions while reflecting on social and political issues and stereotypes. Rawiya is committed to assisting emerging photographers from across the region and raising the standards of documentary storytelling.

Rawiya’s 5 members Tamara Abdul, Laura Boushnak, Tanya Habjouqa Bishara, Dalia Khamissy and Newsha Tavakolian.
