Have you still got all your hair?
Written by David WhiteIf so, you’re probably under 24. Whoop. That means you can enter the Ian Parry awards.
£3k up for grabs for the winner, with a couple of other prizes. You have to be under 24, or else a full time photographic student.
Best get your roller skates on though, there’s less than a month ’till the deadline.
Ok…even if you have passed the tender age of 24, and are as bald as a coot, you can enter the Terry O’Neill/Tag Awards instead. Another £3k up for grabs there.

Thanks, DR. Didn’t know about the Tag Awards, but will look at applying now. Appreciated.
While I’m not being negative in any way to these types of Awards. I do question why there is an insistence that students need to be full-time. Why are part- timers excluded? Ian Parry has this requirement, Terry O’Neill doesn’t.
I asked this of the Luceo Images Awards earlier this year when they extended the deadline. They also insist on full-time students only. Does Duck know the answer or can shed some light on this?
Jonathan,
I totally agree. For example what’s the difference between the people I teach who are doing a full time Masters and a part-time Masters degree. I guess they just feel the need to draw the line somewhere.
My guess is that part timers aren’t seen as serious. Hobbyists, maybe. Oh the horror.
Right on, I’m going to enter! I’m under 42 (and also dyslexic).
lol
