Bangers for Chloe Dewe Mathews

Chloe is one of Panos’ new members and five minutes on her website will tell you why.

There’s a great story on the Bangor racing (demolition Derby) which incidentally my old workplace, BBC Radio 4, have jumped on and are making into a radio doco.

These are the kind of quirky stories that we don’t see enough of and which rarely get enough respect. I’m not sure why because I think audiences love them more than much of the straining to be artistic photojournalism.  Shouldn’t we take work seriously because of the approach, not the seriousness of the subject?

The series that really caught my eye is about the people on the fringes of the Caspian sea:

    Good catch, Panos! Met Chloe briefly at Arles a couple of times. I think I need something like a brain-plugged cheap wifi connection to check people’s work while I meet them the first time to get more out of my festivals.
