Contemporary Russian photography

The International Portfolio Review for Russian Photographers sounded damn interesting. Lens Culture have a write up about some of the photographers they met and the work they were impressed by…and fine work it is too…

From the Lens Culture site:

“Something unprecedented and amazing happened in the art world last week in Moscow. For the first time ever, 185 photographers — from more than 30 provinces, cities and towns throughout Russia, Ukraine and Belarus — came together for a week-long conference about contemporary Russian photography.”

    Alexander Gronsky’s work makes me think of Lowry paintings. *ducks* Would like to know more about what got discussed.
