Easy on the eye

This time-lapse film is, particularly the night shots.  Nice work, though I’ve got to admit that the inspirational music didn’t really do it for me.

If I see one more time lapse short film from someone who just discovered DSLR filmmaking I think I’m going to cut my own release cable. At least they didn’t do the usual thing and combine it with tilt shift. Let’s see some content!

The landscape is stunning, but we knew that already.

      Totally agree with you Nick.

This sort of thing goes down a storm with the Vimeo community but I’m waiting for someone to do it with a really great story and audio. I’ve stopped saying that now cause I think duckrabbit should have done it a long tome ago and it frustrates me.

There’s nothing wrong with the new generation of DSLR Filmmakers, I’m one after all, but it’s just another tool and so far most of them are still wetting themselves over how they can make ‘Cinema’ in their bedrooms, fine DOF, widescreen, slo mo etc. Hopefully they will start to make some meaningful and engaging content eventually.
There is some superb low budget DSLR stuff out there that gives me a lot of hope, this for example is a great little documentary made with the smallest amount of equipment by Andrew Wonder..

The film subject is so engrossing that you don’t notice the technical aspects of how it was made.

Nice visuals but no story… Maybe that’s why the music seems overblown?

  3. Here you go folks – THIS is what you want – Keith Loutit. Great visuals. Great lighting. T/S and stop motions AND A STORY!!!!! Enjoy. http://vimeo.com/3156959
