‘I can’t stop loving you’
Written by duckrabbitMiss Punny is a surprisingly beautiful, soft, whisper of a photofilm, lovingly crafted by photographer and duckrabbit trainee Gemma Thorpe.
‘Little’ stories like this are rarely told anymore in a world that is always seems to be looking for the bigger picture. That means that when they come around they feel even more special.
It also goes to show that a little bit of training can go a long way. Well done Gemma. Superb work.

That was a treat. Thanks Gemma. Gentle, personal meditations such as that are equally as important as any whizz bang multimedia ‘event’. Plus Ray Charles…what can i say 🙂
..”A whisper of a Photofilm….” Nice.
In a world where too many people want to be extraordinary and fight to get onto ‘the x factor’s got talent’ or whatever to try to prove it, and sadly just look stupid, this little gem just underlines what’s really important. Just quietly being yourself. For others. Lovely.
Proving that a whisper can be powerful and moving.
Just wonderful, Gemma. Congratulations.
I love the way that it ends, with the sound of the LPs needle scratching in the grooves.
Guys thanks for your comments. I know from experience how much it means when someone watches and takes the time to say something positive back. Always (IMO) the best reward for hard work.
This is a lovely little story. How did Gemma get permission to use Ray Charles’s song?
Very nice indeed!
Just wanted to say a HUGE thankyou to duckrabbit for sharing this and for all your kind comments -I’ll be writing to her soon to share them with her. Like duck says it really means a lot to have someone (other than my Mum) watching something I’ve made, and even better to have positive comments about it.
I’d just like to give a shout out to the Missouri Photo Workshop, during which the material was recorded. MPW is all about the small stories and I highly recommend the workshop which has been running for 63 years, building an amazing archive of life in small-town America.
I definitely needed the kick up the ass and the training from duckrabbit to bring it all together, and couldn’t have made it without all the encouragement from Ben during the training.
Thanks again, and Laura, I guess I took the approach of shoot first ask later with the music…it’s Miss Punny’s favourite Ray Charles song.
