“My Word is HAPPY, fucking HAPPY, with a great big exclamation mark! I don’t think you can put a price on that.”
Written by duckrabbitEver wondered what its like to take a duckrabbit workshop?
Well stop wondering and then sign up for next year (Devon or Toronto).
Above is a short photofilm of our Hinterlands workshop that we put on in the Summer with Mike and Boo (Rebecca) Harley. Don’t worry if you’ve just watched the film and are kicking yourself for missing possibly the best photofilm (and local scrumpy drinking) workshop on the planet. Hinterlands 2 is coming to a field of Yurts near you next year (more here). I can’t promise it will be ‘better’, cause this year is going to be hard to top, but we’ll have a good crack and I’ll be very surprised if it doesn’t sell out like last year.
“It was the perfect combination of training and great photographic company in a fantastic location. I learnt how to transform my existing skills into what’s required for a photofilm and gained a valuable insight into interviewing and audio recording techniques – the visiting lecturers were the icing on the cake!” Tessa Bunney
If you’re in North America and wanting some of that magic in your own back yard (we did have someone come from Washington to our last workshop) then I’m pleased to announce that following the success of our MooseRabbit workshop in Montreal we’ll be doing one next year at Contact photo festival in Toronto. Register your early interest on the duckrabbit website here.
There’s a lot of negativity in the industry and I certainly wouldn’t claim that starting to produce photofilms is a magic bullet for your career, but it can make a huge difference. A couple of months back Sam Spickett came to Birmingham to train with me. The outcome? With a lot of hard work he’s already bought back in extra income worth four times what he invested in the workshop.
Not bad Sam, not bad.
