An oldie but a goodie.
Written by David WhiteThis piece that is, not the man Stanley Greene himself, although you can read it whichever way you wish.
His answer to what I imagine was a question like “What does it take to be a great photojournalist?”
(although it could have been ‘what do you have to deal with if you run over your neighbours cat?’)
is: “That’s easy…brains,guts, and humanity”
“brains, guts, and humanity and probably more and more humanity, because a lot of photographers got brains, they’re not stupid. And a lot of them think they have a lot of guts, but the humanity, they’re on really low supply of humanity because the business really dictates other rules”
Gotta love rules.
