“Daddy, daddy, daddy, look look look! Look! There! Look daddy! It’s my name. W for William, there, on the road! LOOK!” said William (aged 3 yrs and 10 months) with great excitement as we cycled along the community woodland bike path.

Then pensive for a moment he continued “Daddy, why is there a space rocket there?”
“Well William what noise do rockets make?”
He thought for a moment and said “WHOOOOSH! and maybe WHEEEEEEE! like the fireworks rockets daddy!”
“Yes William, and whoosh and whee begin with a W sound, just like William!”
“Yes daddy W for WHOOSH!”
And so we cycled on accompanied by the delightful wheeeing and whoooshing sound of a small boy being a rocket heading off on his journey to the future.

Children’s perceptions are so fascinating. I saw a frog so thought William might have been jumping and hopping!
Frog? What the F is that all about…..!
Sorry couldn’t resist it! Yes, children can really surprise you! And William does it a lot.
