Beauty with a punch?

Katelyn
Why don’t people just see it for what it is? – Makeup. It’s an artist replicating something that looks realistic & yes, while disturbing, I’m sure the whole editorial staff wasn’t showing that they are for violence & abuse! How absurd to make something more than it is. It’s an artist’s rendition of wounds. Not necessarily male inflicted, battered women, but makeup made to make someone look ugly instead of beautiful. It’s disturbing in that it makes you look twice. Catch your attention. It’s bold, daring & interesting. Stop always overthinking things & allowing yourselves to be offended. You’re the only one who determines how you feel about things. That doesn’t always mean that is how they were meant to be portrayed.

As a crime s.u.r.v.i.v.o.r. viewing these images and reading these ‘comments’, I feel a strong urge to speak out, as I see things quite differently. First, go to your dictionary and r.e.a.d. the definition of exploitation. Next, look at the images again. There seems to be a wide range of reactions. Perhaps I can be of help, since I have the distinct advantage of working through this issue previously ‘firsthand’.

Violence is not domestic or imported as it embeds itself in your flesh. It’s only label is pain. Do you see any signs of pain on the faces here? or a.n.y. emotion? So we are viewing mutilated faces (Yes, if you need , back to the dictionary) devoid of human emotion, yet their eye shadow is ‘just right’ so they have the label ‘victims of beauty’. Would they still look stunning if a tear ran down their cheek and smudged their eye make up? I think not. For then they might become human to us. They are ‘not so subtle’ posers to emulate?

Here comes the shocker. You are the victim, of a sick society who dehumanizes each and every one of us. A society that obliterates all natural sensitivities, depending on the classification i.e. collateral damage, murder, Slave trade, victims of ‘beauty’, enhanced interrogation, torture. The word game goes on and on till you see thru it and stop being the victim. It’s time to move forward.

Boots on the ground.
