It’s going to be another great month for the London Festival of Photography. If you haven’t caught the Museum of London’s exhibition of Frederick Wilfred’s photographs of 1950s London then this week is the week to do it – it ends on 8 July. Fantastic stuff for anyone interested in London and street photography. If something a bit more contemporary is more your thing then there’s an exhibition of London street photography free and open every day in Kings Cross station. And there’s plenty more to see this month – full diary available here.
duckrabbit will be at the festival this coming weekend too. On Saturday 7 July we’ll be running a one-day seminar on the art of photofilm production in The October Gallery in Bloomsbury, London. So if you fancy dipping your toe into the world of digital storytelling then this is a great way to start. This year we’ve been busy this year training photographers, journalists and NGO and charity workers, both freelance and from The Times, Oxfam, Greenpeace and The British Council, to name just a few. And we’re very happy to say that our students have gone on to have their work placed online with a number of major news and current affairs outlets, including the BBC, The Observer, TIME and the New York Times.
The one day seminar costs £65 and, if you do subsequently decide that you come on one of our regular 3-day photofilm production workshops then we’ll be happy to deduct that £65 from the price of the workshop. Our ethos is that, with a bit of training and a lot of hard work there’s no reason why you can’t produce work of the very highest quality. More details about the seminar here. Look forward to seeing you there (and having a drink afterwards…).
