Proving the existence of the Higgs boson would finally answer a question that no one has been asking from time immemorial: Why is there mass?

The rest of us haven’t been asking this question because we’ve been too busy dealing with mass. Our questions about it are of a more utilitarian nature. Have I dropped the mass on my toe, can the mass fit into a wheelbarrow, will the mass look better under a floral patterned cotton throw when company comes over? Is it time to Turtle Wax the mass, what sort of other masses are available on eBay right now, if the cops break in is the mass too massive to flush down the toilet, how does the mass look in these jeans?

And why do we have to relate everything to the size of a football field? Whatever happened to double decker buses?
