Photo-shopped pictures of Assad running on Reuters and the BBC?

Now I’m no picture expert, so correct me if I’m wrong (its probably just the odd way the men are not standing in line with one another), but to my untrained eye there’s something not quite right about these pictures of Syria’s Assad running today on the BBC here and Reuters here.

What do you think?

They’re fine. The guy on the right in the Reuters pic just happens to have become a vampire (but seems to be OK with the open windows) or is levitating.

  2. Lack of shadow is consistent with being one of the undead, in my humble opinion (having watched Roman Polanski’s ‘dance of the vampires’ twice, I feel more than qualified to comment.)

I assume there’s a NewsMashup website somewhere that allows you to pick the ‘Assad & General’ image and drop it on to a range of backgrounds…

The BBC photo is not a photo – it’s a video and although both men look wooden, they are clearly there as they are moving about! The other one is a file photo from October 2011 and the fact the sky is overexposed leads me to think that it’s genuine or they’d have comped a decent sky in too! Probably just the vicious backlighting that makes it look a bit like a cut-out.
