Audio Slideshow – Guardian

Is that the worst example of using photoshop to create the appearance of using a tilt-shift lens you’ve ever seen in a newspaper? Or am I just being unfair?

DAVID WHITE THINKS SO:

Maybe you’re being unfair…it is very incongruous though…there are a lot of shots in that set that would be better to
start the piece with, and also, he has not used that effect anywhere else. Odd. He may have used a dodgy lens to deliberately
get that effect…for some reason it is professionally acceptable for a photojournalist to fanny about with the pic IN camera, but not OUT camera. So, a lensbaby is ok, but photoshop is naughty. Weird. He also may be trying to emulate people like Laforet, but I would like to think Tom is above all that.
Who knows.
