This question put many answers into my head. Personally I’d tell him to go digi to avoid any darkroom cock ups, and watch his step.

I doubt those were the answers hoped for by emphas.is, a new something that’s sprung up. I say something, because it doesn’t yet exist.

Emphas.is “proposes a unique bond between photojournalists and their audience, and in the process aims to create a new financial model for photojournalism in the 21st century.”

Sounds good. I wish them all the best of luck. They are hoping to use crowd funding, ‘but with a difference’…part of the difference being that they will be working with a board of reviewers composed of top level photo industry professionals to select proposals before they go public. Thanks for that explanation Tomas.

They certainly have a ringing list of endorsements. As I say, sincerely, ( I had to put that in because apparently it’s tricky to discern when I’m joking) Best of luck.
