Apple’s in 3D

Steve and the gang are dipping their toes into extra dimensions. Apple have just filed a patent for 3d technology that doesn’t need glasses, and allows multiple viewers. The technology apparently senses the positions of viewers eyes. What it does after that is all voodoo.

“Yes, not only is Apple planning to do away with the specs, but also build a system whereby multiple viewers can watch a display and all enjoy three dimensions, whatever angle they’re sitting at.”

Here’s a demonstration:

Close your left eye, and look at the green apple. Then close your right eye, and look at the red apple. That was a warming up exercise. Now, make yourself go crosseyed, marvel at the crapness of my experiment, and go out and take some pictures.

You’re a genius, Dave. You’ll be our VIP guest at London Design Festival next year.

He doesn’t scare the designers, you see.
