Written by David WhiteAlready 3 times over what was asked for, with 54 days to go. Looks very interesting. Not very often that’s going to happen to any photographer methinks, let alone one unheard of until very recently.

It will only happen to a photographer that has A/passed away two years ago B/has never been heard of before C/the person that now is promoting the idea, an entrepreneur who owns 100,000 of her negatives and stands to make reputation/money out of it and D/has probably no intellectual property rights assigned to a relative etc…. and what of Penny Tweedies ground breaking work? will anyone do a doc on her? she warrants more than a footnote in history… But undoubtedly if someone has to pay for her story it will a doc that won’t ever get made… I am sorry but if Vivian Maier didn’t share her photos with anyone while she was alive perhaps it would not be her wish to share them now…So why rewrite history… sure they are nice photos… don’t know about great, there are rather a lot of those kinds of iconic images around so whats the deal? ‘Undiscovered’ and cheap would be my guess…
