Happy Chinese New Year from Bristol.
Written by David WhiteThis sounded like a great photo op. 500 biodegradeable lanterns were to be released into the night sky above Bristol to celebrate Chinese New Year and to celebrate good old Bristol. Unfortunately it was raining and that put a lot of people off attending. I was hoping for a south westerly wind and a combined lift off, so that I could get a shot of all the lanterns cutting across Brunel’s suspension bridge, the moon winking in shot. As usually happens, I didn’t get the pic I had in my head….mainly due to a north easterly wind, and only about 5 lanterns going up at a time. Still, It was fun, and the pics below are interesting at least, in a fire, water and air kind of way. There was mud on my boots so there’s 4 elements for you.
