Optical allusion.

Vladimir Vyatkin thinks that the image below, Black Square by Kazimir Malevich, (which I have given you a few versions of for research purposes) “symbolizes the degradation of the humanistic basis of modern photojournalism.”  Interesting.

If you reproduce minimalist artwork many times, does it get bigger, or smaller?
