In Verse: Women of Troy

Ok, This isn’t new. But who cares when it’s this strong. As I keep saying to people on training and in lectures….team up…with a poet, a musician, an artist, a coder, a genius, an idiot, a sound man, a lighting guy. I bet you know some very talented people.

“Labor historians have argued that Troy was the prototype for the industrialization of America and “the most important city during the Industrial Revolution.” Troy’s beginnings stand in stark contrast to its current social conditions. Today, roughly one-fifth of the population lives below the U.S. poverty line; most families in Troy survive on minimum wage jobs.”

Don’t mean to be overly critical on something so good, but I would advice people to have those introduction lines be read out loud by whoever is in their body of work. It’s a pity that a multimedia piece is introduced by a text only that slows down the experience. You see this a lot, almost every time and it’s a pity. Including those portrayed and hearing their voices too would make a lot of sense and get the whole piece up to the same speed…

Duckrabbit, check out Brenda Ann’s “Money, Power, Respect” that was done a few years ago when she was a student at the University of Miami. http://www.brendakenneally.com/theblock/#, and this one as well:http://www.brendakenneally.com/bigtrigg/

From what I remember, Brenda Ann lead the life, and continues to lead the life. She never abandoned where she came from, and probably never will.
