The Promise of Tomorrow

“Suicide is painless”

That’s what the song says.  I don’t know for sure, because its not something I’ve tried.

What I DO know is that its painful being left behind when a friend does it. That hurts.

I didn’t know Dave Pegg, but I knew of him. This film doesn’t so much mourn his loss as celebrate his life and legacy.

Mental health matters. It’s good to talk about it.

Alison Osius wrote eloquently here in ‘Suicide in Our Sights’ about the need to speak, to ask, to offer help and guidance. It’s something we can all do, talk. Just talk. And we should.

It’s a short, thought-provoking piece, but the most moving part of it is this:

sandwich

A sandwich. Only a sandwich. But for this one person, briefly, it had held the promise of tomorrow.
